resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has donated two Bengal cows weighing 900 and 850 kilograms each for Idul Adha in Surakarta, Central Java, which falls on Friday.
The President bought the cattle from Kuncoro, a breeder in Glandogan village, Polokarto, Sukoharjo.
“I offered President Jokowi’s staffer my cows at the beginning of August. They agreed to buy these two cows on Aug.20. They are the best local cows,” said Kuncoro on Thursday.
The cattle will be handed over to the Surakarta administration before they are slaughtered at Surakarta Grand Mosque and Al Wustho Mangkunegara Mosque.
“The cows will be taken to Surakarta on Friday because the slaughtering will be conducted on Saturday,” Surakarta administration spokesperson Heri Purwoko said. (ebf)
