View all search resultshe Jakarta administration is set to begin renovation work on 10 sport halls at the end of this month in preparation for the 2018 Asian Games.
The funds needed for the renovation come from a private company as payment in return for the expansion of the floor area ratio (KLB). Jakarta Youth and Sport Agency head Ratiyono said the company in question had begun conducting surveys on the sites, while his office had submitted the renovation plan.
“We want to start [the renovation] at the end of this month, so that it will finish by March. We plan to hold a test event in April at all venues for the Asian Games,” he said on Saturday, as quoted by beritajakarta.id.
While the location of the 10 sport halls was not mentioned, Ratiyono said the renovation would include repair work on floors, toilets and lighting as well as adding more air conditioners, in line with the international standards set for the quadrennial event.
He added that total funds of Rp 65 billion (US$4.92 million) were needed for the renovation.
