The program to renovate uninhabitable houses took place over five months, starting in April.
“The project in Cilincing is a pilot project in the housing renovation program. Whether it will be continued or not depends on the decision of the next administration,” Djarot said during the inauguration ceremony.
The outgoing governor is set to leave his post on Oct. 15 to be replaced by incoming governor Anies Baswedan.
Djarot hopes the project will be continued by Anies and his deputy Sandiaga Uno.
The project was helped along by several companies, including paint producer PT Avia Avian and cement maker PT Semen Merah Putih.
Earlier, the administration trained groups of city builders called “red troops” to renovate the 67 dilapidated houses.
