A

man identified as DK, 30, was found dead at the construction site of Parkland Avenue apartments in Serpong, South Tangerang, Banten, on Friday.

He had reportedly jumped off the 31st floor of the building, Serpong Police chief Comr. Deddy Kurniawan said.

"We found a pair of sandals and motorcycle keys at the site that reportedly belonged to the victim," Deddy said on Friday, as quoted by kompas.com.

Deddy said DK worked as a contract teacher at a private elementary school. "His family told us he was a good [teacher] who failed the civil servant enrollment test recently. He was said to have suffered from depression," he said.

The victim's body has been taken to Tangerang General Hospital to undergo an autopsy.

The Indonesian Psychiatric Association (PDSKJI) estimates that 9 million people in the country suffer from depression. (yon)
