View all search resultshe Bogor Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has reminded motorists planning to pass along cliff roads in the resort area of Puncak in Cisarua, Bogor, West Java, to be alert to the risk of landslides amid heavy rain pouring in the area for hours on Friday afternoon.
The head of the emergency unit at the agency, Budi Aksomo, urged motorists not to use the cliff roads during rainfall. “Don’t force yourself to go via the cliff roads [during rain]. It is better to take shelter for a while and avoid such roads,” Budi said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
The heavy rain lasted from at 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., inundating a number of areas in the district of Cisarua.
Incessant rain also led to an increase in the water level at the Katulampa sluice gate in Bogor to alert level 3, two counts below the top alert level.
Jakarta residents, especially those living along the Ciliwung River, should anticipate flooding, Budi said. (vny)
