inance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati is expected to inaugurate the new director general of taxation on Thursday amid speculation that the government has appointed the ministry's financing and risk management director general, Robert Pakpahan, to fill the position.

There has been no official announcement about who will replace Ken Dwijugiasteadi, who is set to retire.

According to invitations given to journalists, the inauguration ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a source at the ministry speaking on the condition of anonymity confirmed Robert would be inaugurated on Thursday.

Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung previously refused to reveal the name of the new director general after representatives of several government institutions held a meeting to carry out their final evaluation of the nominees for the position on Wednesday. (bbn)
