View all search resultsandut singer Dewi Perssik was reported to the Jakarta Police for allegedly threatening to assault a Transjakarta staff member, an official has said.
The staff member was reportedly harassed when attempting to reprimand Dewi, who was attempting to enter a dedicated Transjakarta lane last week.
"The staff member reported the case in a personal capacity, not through the company," Transjakarta spokesperson Wibowo said, adding that the staff member had consulted with the company prior to filing a report.
Dewi’s car drove through a Transjakarta lane in Pejaten, South Jakarta. The 31-year-old claimed she was in a hurry to the hospital because one of her assistants was experiencing breathing difficulties. She also claimed that she had been escorted by the police.
Video footage of the incident went viral and drew widespread criticism from the public.
Other than Transjakarta buses, the lanes can only be used by emergency vehicles. (fac)
