eventeen-year-old Mashita Oktavia was found dead in front of the gate of Alinda Kencana housing complex in North Bekasi, West Java, on Saturday.

According to eye witnesses, the victim was slashed from behind by an unknown man.

According to Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono, the incident took place at 2:15 a.m.

The victim, who was driving a motorcycle, was seen stopping in front of the housing complex’s gate. “A few minutes later, an unknown man attacked her with a sickle. He then fled the scene immediately,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.

“We do not know the motive yet. We are still investigating the case,” Argo said. (dpk)
