“We will discuss long-term solutions with experts. We want the solutions to be environmentally friendly,” Anies said at City Hall on Wednesday as quoted by kompas.com.
Meanwhile, for short-term solutions, Anies said he had ordered his subordinates to repair dikes across the capital to regulate water levels.
The governor directly surveyed the Jati Padang dike in South Jakarta on Wednesday morning. The dike collapsed on Monday when heavy rains inundated the area and wind toppled several trees.
Anies said he hoped that the dike would be repaired within one day. (vny)
