he government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with member countries of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to boost knowledge exchange.
The MoU was signed by National Planning Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro at the IDB headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday.
IDB country representative communications officer Riza Iskandar said on Thursday that Indonesia would cooperate with Suriname in artificial insemination for livestock and with Morocco and Tunisia on vaccine development.
"Indonesia has been committed to the IDB's knowledge exchange program since 2014 and has contributed a cumulative amount of US$7.34 million for various projects," Riza said in a statement.
He said knowledge exchange included cooperation in agriculture, fisheries, health and population, vocational and technical education and training, pharmaceutical, planning and budgeting, microfinance, transportation, technology, industry, disaster risk reduction and mitigation and Islamic finance.
"Indonesia is seriously enhancing the exchange of experiences with IDB member countries," Riza said. (bbn)
