akarta Governor Anies Baswedan has ordered the Jakarta Transportation Agency, along with the Jakarta Police traffic unit, to ticket drivers violating rules in the capital, especially those who drive their vehicles against the flow of traffic.

"The traffic violations often occurred multiple times in the same location so we installed traffic signs there, but the violations could not be stopped just like that," Anies said on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.

The Jakarta administration together with the traffic police are set to conduct a special operation, Operasi Lintas Jaya, involving 596 personnel.

Several critical areas will be watched closely by the personnel, namely Senen, Roxy and Harmony in West Jakarta; Kelapa Gading, Pluit and Marunda in North Jakarta; Grogol, Kota Tua and Slipi in West Jakarta; Lebak Bulus, Mampang and Blok M in South Jakarta; and Kampung Melayu, Rawamangun and Kampung Rambutan in East Jakarta.
