T

angerang Police in Banten have arrested an angkot (public minivan) driver identified as Yudistira, 27, for an alleged attack on one of his passengers.

Police spokesperson Comr. Manurung said the incident occurred on Sunday in Periuk district, Tangerang.

“Residents found the bleeding victim in the bushes near the crime scene,” Manurung said Tuesday, as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com

The victim, Ahmad Zaeni, boarded the suspect’s angkot on Sunday. On the way, he was robbed and attacked, leaving him with neck injuries before being thrown into the bushes.

The suspect is alleged to have been abetted by two friends. The police found him at his home in Sepatan, Tangerang regency on Monday and he was shot in the leg as he resisted arrest.

“We are still hunting the other perpetrators,” Manurung added. (wnd)
