View all search resultsA burst water pipe along Jl. Terusan HR Rasuna Said in South Jakarta inundated the area and caused a traffic jam on Tuesday.
The pipe belongs to water supplier Pam Lyonnaise Jaya (Palyja).
Palyja leak detection and repair unit head Djoko Sugiarto said he had received a report that water was seeping from a telephone cable box. When officers from the operator disassembled the box, they found that the water pipe had burst.
“We dismantled the box that caused water overflow,” Djoko said on Tuesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Currently, workers from Palyja are busy undoing the damage. To conduct the work, the company had to close a valve, temporarily interrupting the supply of water to several buildings.
The road has been inundated since midnight, with water reaching a depth of up to 30 centimeters. (wnd)
