he management of KS Tubun low-cost rental apartments (Rusunawa) has proposed a rental price of Rp 1.7 million (US$123) for each apartment in the complex.
"The applicants should possess a Jakarta ID with total monthly income [from a married couple] of at least Rp 7 million," said management head Dwiyanti Chotifah on Friday as quoted by kompas.com.
The Rusunawa, Dwiyanti added, was different from regular low-cost rental apartments – which were usually built to accommodate residents that had been relocated. Rent at other Rusunawa ranged between Rp 180,000 and Rp 281,000 per month.
"This is an estimate, hence it could be less or more than that. It depends on the governor's [Governor Anies Baswedan] decision," she added.
The apartment comprises three 16-story towers that house 520 apartments in total. KS Tubun Rusunawa, which was constructed in 2014 and completed in 2017, has not been inaugurated by the Jakarta administration.
"It's still empty because the city administration, along with the City Council, have yet to decide the rental price," Dwiyanti said. (vla)
