n assault craft of the Jakarta Military Command carrying 65 military personnel capsized in waters of the regency of Thousand Islands on Monday morning.

“I received the report. All of the boat’s crew members and passengers have been evacuated and have survived,” said national military spokesman Maj. Gen. M. Sabrar Fadhilah, as reported by kompas.com.

The incident, Sabrar added, had been caused by a technical problem. The engine of the AD-16-05 vessel had failed at 7:10 a.m. Another military boat was dispatched to the site of the incident and arrived at 10:45 a.m. to evacuate the crew and passengers.

“Speedboat AD-16-05 sank at 11:10 a.m.,” he said. (vla)
