T

he Jakarta administration has reissued the identification cards (KTP) and family cards (KK) of evicted Kampung Akuarium residents.

The administration has also built shelters for Kampung Akuarium residents who have remained in the area.

Jakarta Civil Registry and Population Agency head Edison Sianturi said the agency had finished reissuing the KTP and KK cards of Kampung Akuarium residents.

“We have issued 166 ID cards and 79 family cards for residents who reside in block A, B and C of the shelters there,” Edison said on Tuesday as reported by kompas.com.

He said the agency had surveyed the data of the residents who had cover letters from the local neighborhood unit and community unit and had been verified by the sub-district office a month ago.

Previously, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided reissue the KTP and KK cards of residents who were affected by the previous administration’s evictions, in accordance with their previous addresses.

“We will reissue the cards of all who were affected by the evictions of the previous administration. We will restore their neighborhood units, community units, identification cards, family cards, everything,” Anies said at City Hall in November last year. (ami)
