The Jakarta Police have arrested a man for allegedly selling credit card data on a local marketing website, as well as the three individuals who reportedly bought and misused the information to commit fraud.

The alleged seller, IS, stands accused of selling the data of 1,000 credit card users for Rp 1 million (US$ 72.6).
According to police, IS said he had bought the data online.
“We’re still investigating the website where IS bought the database because the website has been deactivated,” an officer at the Jakarta Police's Violent Crimes Sub-Directorate, Adj. Comr. Abdul Rahman, told kompas.com on Monday.
Jakarta Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. I Gede Nyeneg said NM, one IS’ buyers, had been a repeat customer of the website and was using the data to take over credit card holders’ accounts.
His associates, TA an AN, allegedly aided him in committing the fraud.
The three told the police that they had used around Rp 500 million (US$36,298) from several credit cardholders. (cal)
