Actress Ruth Marini will play a character named Sinto Gendeng in LifeLike Pictures’ upcoming action-comedy film Wiro Sableng.

Ruth said as quoted by kompas.com that she needed at least eight hours in make-up to transform herself into Sinto Gendeng, who is portrayed as far older than her.

Not only must Ruth change her physical appearance, she also needs to be versatile in playing the character because she will portray Sinto Gendeng from the age of 40 to 80 years old.

“I need to change my approach psychologically as well,” Ruth said about her approach to playing Sinto Gendeng, the guru of the film’s main antihero protagonist, Wiro Sableng.

Wiro Sableng is an adaptation of the late Bastian Tito’s legendary novel series and the film will also feature Bastian’s son, Vino G. Bastian, as the main character.
