Fiscal incentives to be automatically granted under OSS: Minister Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution (JP/Anton Hermansyah)

C

oordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution said under the online single submission (OSS) system, investors do not need to apply for fiscal incentives because the system would automatically verify those who deserved it.

“About fiscal incentives, the system will automatically verify [the investment document],” said Darmin after speaking at a public dialogue about the OSS system at his office in Jakarta on Friday, as reported by kontan.co.id.

There were several new types of businesses that would be automatically detected by the OSS system, said Darmin, adding that the number was very small.

Therefore, the Investment Coordination Body (BPKM) will set up a team to help these business types receive fiscal incentives.

“The team will be assigned to study certain business sectors whose fiscal incentives could not be detected by system,” he said, stressing that there was not a lot of them.

Darmin added that the system would automatically produce data about the investment based on the document submitted by the investors.

He said 99.99 percent of the submitted documents would automatically know whether the investor deserved incentives or not.

Based on the data from the system, Darmin added, the finance minister would issue confirmation letters to the Directorate General of Taxation. “The letter is not for investors but for tax officers to inform the investors about certain fiscal incentives.”

The government plans to launch the OSS system this month. (bbn)
