inancial Services Authority (OJK) chairman Wimboh Santoso hosted an open house event to celebrate the first day of Idul Fitri at his official residence on Friday.

It was held in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

Wimboh, who will be in charge of the OJK until 2022, shared his meaning of Ramadhan to the press by saying that it was a moment to seize blessings through not only prayers, but also good deeds.

"It’s better to do shalat sunnah (unobligated prayers), intensify our interaction with people and give alms, whether in the form of money or knowledge," he said.

Wimboh welcomed various guests, such as the top management of local banks, financial experts and government officials.

Among the guests were Bank Mandiri president director Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional (BTPN) compliance director Anika Faisal, Institute for the Development of Economics and Finance economist Aviliani and Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Pandjaitan.

Wimboh said although he held an open house, he will join other Indonesians undertaking mudik (exodus) to Boyolali in Central Java on Saturday.

"Of course I will [go on mudik]. I’m going to visit my mom who is 94 years old now," he added.
