T

wo motorists allegedly physically assaulted a service officer in charge of Transjakarta's late-night bus operations in the early hours of Monday.

The assault occurred after the Bianglala Metropolitan (BMP) 104 late-night bus entered a bus shelter at Blok M, South Jakarta, according to Transjakarta spokesperson Wibowo.

"There were private cars in the Transjakarta lane," Wibowo said as quoted by kompas.com. "A black Daihatsu Gran Max with the license plate B 1840 TOL, and a black Nissan with the license plate B 8732 GM."

A service officer, Hafizh, then got off the bus to tell the motorists to move their vehicles to make room for the Transjakarta bus.

"But the motorists did not immediately leave the scene. They remained in lane 2," he said.

After the bus passengers alighted, the two motorists allegedly approached Hafizh who was in lane 1 and dragged him away.

The drivers then proceeded to hit Hafizh in the face.

Other service officers intervened to stop the violence. The alleged assailants left the scene shortly after.

The identities of the drivers is still unknown.

Wibowo said the company would file a report to the authorities. (rfa/wit)
