onny Kosasih Yuniarto, who reported lawmaker Herman Hery for allegedly assaulting him and his wife during a quarrel on the street last month, says he stands by his claim despite the politician’s denial.

Ronny was questioned on Wednesday by the police after Pardan, the driver of a Rolls-Royce that the lawmaker was reportedly riding in during the incident, in turn filed a police report against him for alleged assault.

Herman has denied any involvement in the incident, claiming he was overseas at the time. He claimed that Ronny had mistaken him for his brother.

However, Ronny said, "when you are beaten you'll remember [the incident] until you die. I am 1 million percent sure that the [perpetrator] was Herman Hery."

"If I have to confront him, I am ready," Ronny told reporters after undergoing questioning, as reported by tempo.co.

Ronny filed a report with the South Jakarta Police on June 11 against Herman, a House of Representatives Commission III member from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), for allegedly assaulting him and his wife while he was being ticketed by police officers for driving in a Transjakarta bus lane on Jl. Arteri Pondok Indah on June 10.

The victim reportedly questioned the traffic police officers for not ticketing the driver of a Rolls-Royce that was behind Ronny’s car. (fac)
