View all search resultsejaten Barat subdistrict used corporate social responsibility (CSR) money from companies in the area to paint road separators on Jl. Warung Jati Barat, South Jakarta, in various colors to welcome the 2018 Asian Games, an official said on Wednesday.
"We requested the CSR money from an apartment complex [developer] on Jl. Buncit Raya and a glass store owner. We received Rp 2 million [US$138] from them,” Rahmat said as quoted by kompas.com, adding that the money used to buy the colorful paints had not been completely used up yet.
He said he had received orders from his superiors to restore the separators back to black and white, which the subdistrict's public facility maintenance agency (PPSU) workers had started to do on Wednesday.
Previously, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan instructed the colorful road separators to be repainted black and white to adhere to “generally accepted” traffic regulations.
Jakarta governor assistant for development and the environment Yusmada Faisal said he had urged Anies to repaint the colorful road separators and to issue a regulation that would clarify the matter. (ami)
