Japan beat Indonesia 3-0 in field hockey at the Asian Games.
he Japan national men's hockey team defeated Indonesia 3-1 in a Group A match at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium hockey field in Jakarta.
The first quarter opened with the two teams performing evenly and with offensive intensity.
Zandana Hirotaka of Japan broke the deadlock by scoring from the penalty corner, making it 1-0 for Japan.
Japan’s lead did not last long, as in the second quarter, Indonesia’s Rahmad Astri netted an equalizer in the 17th minute.
In the second half, Japan exposed holes in Indonesia’s defense. Murata Kazuma scored in the 41st minute of the third quarter and Tanaka Kenta expanded the lead to 3-1 in the 48th minute.
This is the second win for Japan at the Asian Games, after defeating Sri Lanka 11-0 on Monday. For Indonesia, it records its second loss, after getting crushed by India 17-0 on Monday.
