s many as 27 undocumented migrants from Afghanistan are being transferred from an immigration detention center in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to Tanjung Pinang, Riau.

During a ceremony on Tuesday, NTT Deputy Governor Josef Nae Soi said the Law and Human Rights Ministry had provided a location to assist them.

“Every asylum seeker in Indonesia will be transferred there one at a time,” Josef said on Tuesday.

According to Josef, Indonesia always supported everyone who came to the country, as long as they could interact well with local residents.

“We hope that [the Afghan migrants] are able to be reunited with their family again,” Josef said, adding that he hoped the refugees would only bring good memories of NTT to Tanjung Pinang.
