T

he Bogor Police and West Java Police have detained a man, identified only as S, for questioning on the murder of Andriana Yubelia Noven Cahya Rejeki, an 18-year-old Baranangsiang vocational high school student who died after being stabbed in Bogor on Tuesday.

S is being questioned at the West Java Police headquarters in Bandung.

Bogor Police chief Sr. Comr. Hendri Fiuser revealed that, according to S’ account, he and Andriana used to date.

“We’ve held one person, identified as S. He’s a witness. He’s Andriana’s ex-boyfriend,” Hendri said as quoted by kompas.com on Thursday.

However, Hendri said the police were still working on the case.

On Thursday, Andriana was laid to rest in Cimuncang, Bandung. She was dressed in a purple gown that she herself designed as a fashion student.

“We are just focusing on [Andriana’s] funeral, not on the case. We just wish the police can arrest the perpetrator soon,” said Andriana’s father, Johanes Bosco Wijanarko, tempo.co reported.

Andriana died on Tuesday after being stabbed by a stranger in an alley near a house in which she rented a room on Jl. Riau in East Bogor district, Bogor. Her body was found by residents at 4 p.m.

The incident was recorded by a CCTV camera installed in the alley. (vla)
