akarta Governor Anies Baswedan has not determined a date to officiate the newly opened Tanah Abang Skybridge after a clash between vendors and Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers occurred on Thursday.
“A problem suddenly arose. So now I want the situation to cool down first before we organize the officiation event,” Anies told the press on Thursday.
The sky bridge has been undergoing a trial operation since Dec. 7. Approximately 446 kiosks have been provided for the street vendors to move onto the sky bridge. However, according to the Indonesian Ombudsman, 650 street vendors were located on Jl. Jatibaru, surrounding Tanah Abang Market. The plan was that the vendors that did not get a spot on the sky bridge would be placed in Blok F of the market.
Region-owned developer PD Sarana Jaya’s president director, Yoori C. Pinontoan, said the sky bridge trial should have been completed by Jan. 15.
“The plan was only until Jan 15. Afterward, if we saw that everything was fine, we would call Pak Governor for the officiation,” Yoori said as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com.
