he Depok Information and Communications Agency in West Java has said the public are now able to access free Wi-Fi in 150 spots throughout the city.
“[Free Wi-Fi] allows the public to access public information. We have installed [Wi-Fi] in 150 spots. This year, we will install another 50,” agency head Sidik Mulyono said on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.
The Wi-Fi-enabled spots include subdistrict offices, houses of worship, community halls and several other public facilities.
Sidik said the agency was conducting a survey to identify other viable spots. “We have yet to decide [the future spots]. We will cooperate with the management teams that work with fiber optic [cables], which were installed from Jl. Margonda to Jl. Simpang Ramanda,” he said, adding that Jl. Simpang Ramanda was one of the busiest thoroughfares in the city.
