Gas pipe explosion injures one, damages food court at Taman Anggrek Mall

One person was reportedly injured in a gas pipe explosion in Taman Anggrek Mall in West Jakarta on Wednesday morning.

A gas pipe exploded at the Taman Anggrek Mall in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, on Wednesday at 10.30 a.m.

One person was reportedly injured in the incident.

“It’s from a gas pipe,” said head of the general crime division at Tanjung Duren Police Adj. Comr. Rensa Aktadivia as quoted by kompas.com.

He added that the injured victim had been admitted to a hospital.

“The explosion occurred at one of the food court stalls that was under construction. The situation is now under control,” Taman Anggrek mall management said in a written statement on Wednesday.

The management said the mall continued to operate as normal and apologized for the incident.
