em>Bareksa.com, a mutual fund marketplace in Indonesia, teamed up with an independent investment advice company, Jagartha Advisors, to establish a premium segment investment product for wealthy clients called Bareksa Prioritas.

“Bareksa Prioritas was designed to answer the needs of wealthy investors through a combination of technology features and qualified talents,” the company said in a statement on Monday, adding that it was intended for clients with minimum account balances of Rp 5 billion (US$349,405).

Prioritas offers services that include daily research reports on national and global scales, news and market updates, daily consultations with dedicated advisors and advanced technology for mutual fund transactions, it said.

Bareksa.com now has 380,000 retail investor clients and represents more than 30 percent of all mutual fund investors in Indonesia, making the company the largest mutual fund marketplace platform in the country.

It said the opening of the premium segment reflected its belief that digital financial services should be available to everyone, including those in the high net-worth market.

“Bareksa Prioritas is now ready to tap into a wider market, seeking investors outside Java Island,” the statement said, adding that Bareksa Prioritas, which had expanded its services to Medan, handles not only individual accounts, but also corporate clients.

Bareksa.com has 35 investment manager partners with 181 funds in various asset classes.

Based on data from the Medan branch of the Go Public Information Center, the number of people classified under the Single Investor Identification (SID) in North Sumatra is currently 31,510. The number of stock investors in the province is 28,000. (bbn)
