MRT sees 30-minute headway due to repair work

epair work along the Jakarta MRT railway has resulted in delays, with headway hitting 30 minutes from the regular 10 minutes.
PT MRT Jakarta corporate secretary M. Kamaluddin said the repairments were minor.
“We repaired the rail line between Setiabudi and Dukuh Atas this morning to ensure the safety of the public trial run, which is our top priority,” Kamaluddin said in a statement on Thursday morning.
The 30-minute headway, he said, only affected the route from Blok M Station in South Jakarta to the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle in Central Jakarta.
The trains heading in the opposite direction toward Blok M Station are running normal, with 10-minute intervals.
MRT Jakarta previously increased the quota for the public trial run to 50,000 passengers per day from 28,800 passengers.
Trial runs are carried out from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a total of 98 trips a day. The train will officially begin operating on April 1. (ggq)
