Pertamina prepares for fuel demand increase ahead of Idul Fitri

State-owned oil and gas holding company Pertamina is preparing for the anticipated 20 percent increase in fuel consumption during this year’s Idul Fitri exodus.

tate-owned oil and gas holding company Pertamina is  preparing for the anticipated 20 percent increase in fuel consumption during this year’s Idul Fitri exodus.

“The fuel stock will follow the projected increase,” said Pertamina vice president of communications Fajriyah Usman in Jakarta on Thursday as quoted by tempo.co.

The calculation was based on fuel consumption 15 days before and after Idul Fitri, which was expected to fall on June 5, she added.

This year, the consumption of subsidized Premium gasoline during Idul Fitri was estimated at 26,243 kiloliters, 7 percent higher than “normal day” consumption, which was projected at 24.527 kl.

Meanwhile, the stock for Pertamax is estimated to increase by 15 percent to 18,207 kl per day, Pertamax Turbo consumption increased by 5 percent to 820 kl per day and the demand for Pertalite is projected to increase by 20 percent to 55,405 kl per day.

Meanwhile, the consumption of avtur was projected to increase by 10 percent from 14,785 kl per day to 15,333 kl per day.

For Idul Fitri, Pertamina has allocated 662,229 kl of Premium gasoline, 1.1 million kl of Pertalite, 364,140 kl of Pertamax, 31,160 kl of Pertamax Turbo and 437,319 kl of avtur. (bbn)
