Bima Arya Sugiarto was inaugurated as the Bogor mayor for the second time on Sunday along with his new deputy Dedie Rachim.
he incumbent candidate in Bogor's mayoral election, Bima Arya Sugiarto, and his new deputy Dedie Rachim were inaugurated at Bogor City Hall on Sunday following the inauguration at the Gedung Sate heritage building in Bandung, West Java, of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil the previous day.
The Sunday event was attended by public figures such as Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, Palu Deputy Mayor Sigit “Pasha Ungu” Purnomo and National Mandate Party chairman Zulkifli Hasan.
In his speech, Bima who will serve his second term until 2024, told civil servants in Bogor to create a clean and transparent administration. He also reminded all civil servants to work to serve all citizens.
“All who work in agency offices, district offices [and] subdistrict offices should be awake. They must think and work sincerely to serve all citizens. We cannot do that if we do not set an example,” Bima said during his inauguration on Sunday as reported by kompas.com.
Bima's previous deputy was Usmar Hariman, a Democratic Party politician.
Early in the morning prior to the inauguration, Bima and Dedie visited a Car Free Day event in the Sudirman-Thamrin area in Central Jakarta.
The two then visited Sempur Square in Bogor to meet with Bogor residents.
“We will work over the next five years to serve all Bogor residents. We can work and serve the citizens. We will create more spaces for sports. We also care for Bogor’s development, because citizens deserve the best,” Bima said. (ami)
