The Denpasar District Court presided over three separate drug trials involving foreign nationals on Thursday.

Thursday saw the court hearings of three separate drug cases in Bali that involve a British national, a Tanzanian national and a German national.
The Badung prosecutor's office demanded an 18-month sentence at the hearing for British national Christopher James Machreth, with prosecutor A.A. Made Suara Teja Buana accusing Machreth of drug possession for personal use.
“[The prosecution] seeks a punishment of one year and six months for the defendant, Christopher James Machreth, for violating Article 127, Subsection 1 of the Narcotics Law,” Teja Buana said on Thursday during the hearing at the Denpasar District Court.
Machreth, who was arrested earlier this year in possession of 1.1 grams of methamphetamine, delivered his statement of defense also at Thursday's hearing. He also demonstrated remorse In front of the judicial panel presided by judge Anjeliky Handadjani.
“I feel remorse and stupid for what I have done,” he said.
