He accused the pair of having an affair. Maryam is married and Otong allegedly usually visited when Maryam’s husband was working.

On Tuesday morning, Heri scolded Otong and asked him to stop visiting Maryam. He proceeded to file a report to the Cengkareng Police.

Feeling outraged, Otong returned to Maryam’s house with his three friends to attack Heri.

“Heri was stabbed with a sword. He tried to defend himself and the sword wounded his hand,” said eyewitness Nisan as quoted by kompas.com.

Heri’s mother, Maryati, defended her son, saying that he scolded the couple because they had caused public unrest.

Also on Tuesday in Nanggung village, Tangerang, Banten, a man identified as Sarjaya, 63, reportedly stabbed to death his brother-in-law, Yahya, 56, for prohibiting the former from taking his wife home.
