occer club Sevilla FC, currently ranking third on La Liga’s standings, has inked a long-term sponsorship deal with US oil producer Valvoline. The agreement signed on Thursday was announced during a derby between Sevilla and Real Betis, which also marked the league’s restart after two months of hiatus due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“We are very proud of this strong relationship for the next three-seasons, especially that we have been able to secure this during such a difficult time,” Sevilla FC chairman Jose Castro said in a press statement sent to The Jakarta Post on Saturday.
He said every player would wear the company’s logo on their apparel for every match.
Valvoline International senior vice president Jamal Muashsher praised the partnership, saying that Sevilla and Valvoline believed in and practiced the same values and worked hard to strive for the best results in their respective industries.
“We are now incorporating two brands that represent the virtues of both industries,” he said.
Sevilla, playing at home, beat Betis 2-0 with goals by Lucas Ocampos and Fernando, bringing Julien Lopetegui’s side closer to challenging Real Madrid in the runner-up position. Barcelona stands on top of the standing.
