inarmas World Academy (SWA) has expressed its commitment to encouraging innovation in the world of education through an educational partnership with Peking University Elementary School (PKU ES).
The continuously developing partnership, which started in 2011, launched a student exchange program in 2013 inviting students from SWA and PKU ES to visit each other and take part in intensive programs.
For 2024, dozens of PKU ES elementary school students accompanied by the chairwoman and several teachers visited SWA from April 29 to May 3, taking part in various social, educational and environmental activities. In line with SWA’s Holistic Education principles, the student exchange program aims to build respect and develop cultural understanding between countries, as well as enhancing collaborative learning.
Anton Mailoa, chairman of the board of SWA expressed his pride in being able to establish an educational partnership with Peking University, one of the world’s leading educational institutions.
“In the current global era, education must have the courage to continue to innovate, transform and collaborate to prepare a younger generation capable of making better changes in the world. The development of education in Indonesia and China is very impressive, therefore the SWA and PKU partnership is an important factor for the two institutions to exchange best practices in line with the shared vision of preparing a superior young generation."
Wang Tian Miao, chairwoman of PKU ES, said the opportunity to visit SWA provided an invaluable experience for PKU and its students.
“We are very confident and impressed with the quality of international education at SWA, which encourages students to think critically and creatively, collaborate and demonstrate real action for the community. We are committed to an increasingly strong education partnership with SWA in the future.”
As the only international school in Indonesia that is accredited to dynamically implement and combine the IB, Cambridge and National Partnership curriculum, SWA’s educational partnership with PKU, which is listed among the Top 14 World Universities according to Times Higher Education, confirms SWA's commitment to providing world-class educational services. This partnership is continuously extended to developing teaching staff, updating the curriculum and supporting high-achieving students to the next level of education.
The PKU ES to SWA student exchange program comprised various activities such as interactive science classes, traditional Indonesian batik painting, study trips to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), joint art and calligraphy exhibitions, as well as industrial visits to Indah Kiat Paper Mills which produces pulp, paper and tissue. The visit provided students with the opportunity to learn about practical applications of science and technology in the paper production process, as well as biotechnology experiments.
Daniel, one of the students from PKU ES said that he was very happy to be able to visit SWA.
“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn together and grow in this very enjoyable atmosphere. We are very happy to make new friends and are ready to invite SWA friends to Beijing," he said.
Through ongoing collaboration and initiatives, SWA is committed to building a dynamic learning community to excel in Asia and globally by embracing character values, developing holistic education for a superior generation and actively creating a positive impact on society and the environment.
