The five men and three women who died, all Singaporean, were aged between 72 and 90.
Six of them were unvaccinated. One was partially vaccinated and one was fully vaccinated. All of them had various underlying medical conditions, said the Ministry of Health (MOH), quoted by Channel News Asia.
The Health Ministry did not provide information on what their underlying medical conditions were.
There have been 38 deaths in September alone, a new monthly record. Singapore's death toll now stands at 93.
A recent rise in cases after the relaxation of some COVID-19 measures has prompted Singapore to pause further reopening. More than 80 percent of its population has been vaccinated against the virus.
From this week, Singapore tightened some curbs such as limiting social gatherings to two people and making work from home a default.
