The Rote Ndao Police in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) detained seven Chinese nationals on board a suspicious vessel that drifted into the waters off Ndana Island in Ndao regency on Sunday. Also detained were three Indonesian crew members from Southeast Sulawesi.
A cohort of around 350 immigrants -- many of them convicted of serious crimes including assault, drug smuggling and even murder -- could eventually be sent to the low-lying atoll after Australia failed to resettle them elsewhere.
Both countries will increase people-to-people contact among military personnel, strengthen institutional relations between defense institutions and widen cooperation in training, education and cybersecurity.
