Hong Kong is adopting a targeted approach to attract representative and high-potential strategic enterprises from around the globe to set up or expand their businesses in Hong Kong. The Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) was established in 2022, providing bespoke offerings and tailor-made plans that cover aspects such as land and financing to attract strategic enterprises from four major industries, namely life and health technology; artificial intelligence and data science; financial technology; and advanced manufacturing and new-energy technology.

Youth can now study and work in Hong Kong through Vocational Professional Admission Scheme
Young people from around the world, including Indonesia, can join vocational and professional education and training in Hong Kong, through the recently launched Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS). Introduced as a pilot initiative by the HKSAR Government, VPAS welcomes non-local students to enroll in specifically designated full-time Higher Diploma (HD) programs in the 2024/25 & 2025/26 academic years, offered by the Vocational Training Council (VTC). Upon successful graduation, they will receive internationally recognised qualifications, making them eligible to apply for employment opportunities in the city. Currently, around 90% of the VTC’s High Diploma (HD) graduates are employed, with an average starting salary of USD 2,000/ month.
