Sultan Azianzah, the late suspect of an attack against three policemen in Tangerang, is allegedly linked to the Islamic State-afilliated network Jamaah Ansharut Daulah Khilafah Nusantara (JADKN) lead by terrorist convict Aman Abdurrahman, a top police official said on Friday.
National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) chief Comr. Gen. Suhardi Alius said on Thursday that his institution had detected 478 people who should be involved in the government's out-of-prison deradicalization program. The potential participants were former terror convicts and people with links to terror networks located in 17 provinces, he added.
The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) has urged lawmakers to update a list of terror acts in the revised 2003 Terrorism Law so that the bill covers international legal instruments recognized by the United Nations to prevent terror.
