As this is his second (and last) term in office, understandably some expect Jokowi to slow down in his approach to work. But that isn’t likely to happen. We may see the opposite; he will work even harder and longer than previously.
Changing one aspect of the 1945 Constitution, he said, would open a Pandora's Box as it could lead to changes to other aspects and therefore could open space for political parties to once again seize control of the center of power.
Bambang Soesatyo of the Golkar Party and Ahmad Muzani of the Gerindra Party are the two candidates vying for the MPR speaker post in a race that may shape the power constellation of the legislature and the upcoming Cabinet of President Jokowi.
