View all search resultsMcDonald’s Corp on Tuesday reported a broad drop in global same-store sales and missed profit expectations, as its restaurants were shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic, limiting operations to only drive-thru and delivery.
"McDonald's workers have sounded the alarm about sexual harassment and gender-based violence for years, but a company with a culture rotten from the top has failed to take meaningful action to address the problem," said Sue Longley, general secretary of the International Union of Foodworkers, in a statement.
The Jakarta administration has fined the management of the McDonald's restaurant in the Sarinah shopping center in Central Jakarta Rp 10 million (US$670) for violating the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) by allowing a gathering of hundreds of people on the last day of its operation.
Indonesia's first McDonald's restaurant in the Sarinah shopping center in Central Jakarta, which for years has been an icon for urbanites in the capital, will permanently shut its doors this Sunday after nearly three decades in business.
