View all search resultsThe commemoration of International Women’s Day on March 8 can be the occasion to take the pulse on advances in women’s equality but also reflect on enduring challenges and conflicts: in politics, economics, civic and cultural spaces and in terms of individual affirmation and empowerment of women in society.
To celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, female rights advocacy groups joined with the Yogyakarta Women’s Struggle Committee (KPP) to stage a rally on Thursday to call for the fulfillment of women’s rights and the freedom to wear clothing of their choice, including face veils.
