Listyo Sigit Prabowo. The task force was created to combat illegal activities across several high-risk sectors, particularly those involving natural resources—such as illegal fishing, mining, and logging. It is part of a broader government effort to strengthen enforcement and reduce losses in non-tax state revenue (PNBP).
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday to talk about security, trade and the economy during their first official bilateral engagement, following the two leaders’ previous pledge to deepen Jakarta-Moscow relations.
Despite a wave of recent defense agreements and President Prabowo Subianto’s history of being outspoken at the annual forum, Jakarta opted for a quieter approach this year, prompting speculation over whether Indonesia is attempting to avoid offending major power, or if it simply lacks a coherent security posture.
Indonesia should pursue a balanced 2-3 percent GDP defense budget, leveraging quantum technology and strategic partnerships to strengthen its security, preserve its economy and maintain its non-aligned stance.
