View all search resultsPresident Donald Trump’s administration said on Wednesday it was "very troubled" by the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund's divestment of US construction equipment group Caterpillar, and is engaging with Norway's government on the issue.
The President has ordered a halt to all major corporate actions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestments and investments as well as spin-offs, until the Danantara board has reviewed such projects and the performance of SOE executives.
The Gates Foundation has pitched a strategic collaboration with Danantara Trust, the philanthropic arm of Indonesia’s state asset fund, which is being set up to manage endowments and channel charitable grants.
"The quarter has been impacted by significant market fluctuations. Our equity investments had a negative return, largely driven by the tech sector," Nicolai Tangen, head of the Norwegian sovereign fund, said in a statement.
