ollowing Donald Trump’s temporary ban on immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries, US Border Patrol have reportedly begun to check green card holders' Facebook profiles as a part of the immigration screening process.
Houston-based immigration lawyer Mana Yegani posted on her Twitter account that immigration agents were making decisions on re-entry for green card holders on a case-by-case basis in a process that included questioning the holder’s political views and checking their Facebook accounts.

Yegani told CNET that her fellow lawyers said some passengers’ phones were also checked.

The newly elected US President Trump signed the policy on Friday, which ordered immigration agents to prevent citizens of Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen from entering the country
Yegani, a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, told The Independent that she and other lawyers had worked through the night fielding calls from people who have legitimate visas but were detained by border agents at American airports.
She said these people came to the US legally, but that the immigration process came to a crashing halt because of Trump’s new regulation. (kes)
