South Sulawesi to host Bira Beach Run

South Sulawesi province is going to hold yet another running event on July 1 called the Bira Beach Run.

fter the Malino Run and the Toraja Run, South Sulawesi province is going to hold yet another running event on July 1 called the Bira Beach Run.

As the name suggests, the sports event will be held at Tanjung Bira Beach, Bulukumba regency.

“We hope that apart from running, runners can also enjoy the beautiful nature of Tanjung Bira,” said Bulukumba deputy regent Tomy Satria Yulianto.

“The route has been set for eight kilometers, after passing down the main street, runners will go up the top of Pua Janggo then go down to Bara Beach and run for three kilometers until they reach Bira Beach,” Yulianto added.

This white-sand beach is close to Goat Island and Liukang Island where a lot of travelers love to go snorkeling and diving because of their underwater beauty. Visitors can also witness traditional Phinisi boats being made by the locals. (asw)
