The Obiang Zumba dance festival in Batam attracted more than 1,000 tourists from six countries on Saturday.
“Up to 435 participants from Singapore, India, Australia, the United Kingdom, Malaysia and China joined the festival. Each participant usually brings one to three family members with them. Most of them came from Singapore, arriving at the Nongsa Pura Ferry Terminal,” said Obiang Zumba committee head Julian We.
It was the first time for the Riau Islands city to host the event, which was held at the Batam Beach View Resort.
Eighty percent of the foreign tourists reportedly arrived at the Nongsa Pura Ferry Terminal, while the rest came through the Batam Center Ferry Terminal.
