ourism ministry promotes the Wonderful Indonesia tourism brand at the Xi'An Silk Road International Tourism Expo (XSRITE) 2017 from August 4 to 6.
The event is initiated by the Chinese government and is being held at Qujiang International Conference & Exhibitor Centre Xian in China.
XSITRE 2017 has 500 exhibitors coming from 30 countries. The event is expected to welcome 45,000 visitors throughout the three-day event. The six element of tourism which include culinary, accommodation, transportation, travel, shopping and entertainment are the highlights of the event.

“This exhibition that is located in a city where Terracotta is found is a huge potential to attract more tourists from China to come to Indonesia. This exhibition is an annual event and the biggest one in China,” explained the ministry's deputy minister for Overseas Promotion, I Gde Pitana.
The Indonesian booth is taking the B2B (business to business) promotion that is based on a pre-scheduled appointment between Indonesian and Chinese sellers and other international buyers.
The booth attracts visitors with traditional dance performances, coffee a corner and games.
There’s also a special area designated for South Sumatra and Jambi provinces to promote the upcoming Asian Games 2018.
“There is a lot of information and socialization regarding Indonesia as the host of Asian Games 2018 and the event’s logo. There’s also information about the free-visa policy,” said the ministry's deputy assistant for Asia-Pacific tourism promotion, Vinsensius Jemadu.

The ministry has previously attended the same event last year, promoting the story of Admiral Zheng He’s voyage to 10 cities in Indonesia.
According to the data from Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there were 4.2 million overseas tourists who visited Indonesia throughout the months of January to April this year.
“It’s an increase of 19.34 percent from the same period last year that welcomed 3.52 million visitors. From this year’s number, 1.1. million of them were from China,” Pitana said.
Pitana also said that most Chinese tourists go to Manado and Bali, as per July this year there are already 35,045 tourists from China who arrived in North Sulawesi using chartered flights from Lion Air that depart from six cities in China. (asw)
